Chapter Fifteen: The Results of the Gana (Nature)
1. Deva Gana (Divine)
१. गुरुदेव द्विजातीनां भक्तः शास्त्र विमर्शकः ।
देवदासदृशो मूर्ती जातो देवगणे नरः ॥
Guru-deva dvijaateenaam bhaktah shaastra vimarshakah.
Deva-daasa-drisho muurtee jaato deva-gane narah.
Meaning One born in the Deva Gana is devoted to the Guru, Gods, and the learned (twice-born). He is an analyzer of scriptures and possesses a physique or demeanor resembling a servant of the Gods (humble and divine).
2. Rakshasa Gana (Demonic)
२. तामसः पापकृत्क्रोधी गर्विष्ठः कलहप्रियः ।
निष्ठुरश्छन्न पापश्च गणे स्याद्राक्षसे नरः ॥
Taamasah paapa-krit-krodhee garvishthah kalaha-priyah.
Nishthurash-channa paapash-cha gane syaad-raakshase narah.
Meaning One born in the Rakshasa Gana is of Tamasic nature (prone to darkness/ignorance), commits sins, is angry, excessively proud, and fond of quarrels. He is harsh and commits sins in secret.
3. Manushya Gana (Human)
३. अन्नदाता धनाढ्यश्च प्रजावान्देवपूजकः ।
मनुष्यर्क्षे नरो जातो वरस्त्री सुखभोगकः ॥
Anna-daataa dhana-adhyash-cha prajaavaan-deva-puujakah.
Manushyarkshe naro jaato vara-stree sukha-bhogakah.
Meaning One born in the Manushya Gana (Human Star) is a giver of food, wealthy, blessed with progeny, and a worshipper of Gods. He enjoys happiness with an excellent woman.
॥ इति श्रीजातकसारदीपे गणफलाध्याय पञ्चदशः ॥
Iti Sri-Jataka-Sara-Deepe Gana-phala-adhyaaya panchadashah.
