Chapter Seven: The Results of the Fortnight (Paksha)
1. Shukla Paksha (Bright Fortnight)
१. शुक्लपक्षे नरो जातो दीर्घायुः पुत्त्रवान् भवेत् ।
बहूनां पालको दाता सुहृन्मानी प्रियाजितः ॥

Shukla-pakshe naro jaato deergha-aayuh putravaan bhavet.
Bahuunaam paalako daataa suhrin-maanee priya-jitah.

Meaning
One born in the bright fortnight (Shukla Paksha) becomes long-lived and blessed with sons. He is a protector of many, charitable, respected by friends, and is won over by affection (or conquers others with love).
2. Krishna Paksha (Dark Fortnight)
२. आलसो मालिनो द्वेषी निन्दको ग्राम्यदूषणः ।
कृष्णपक्षे भवेन्मर्त्यः सर्वधर्मबहिष्कृतः ॥
कृष्णपक्षे भवेन्मर्त्यः सर्वधर्मबहिष्कृतः ॥
Aalaso malino dveshee nindako graamya-duushanah.
Krishna-pakshe bhaven-martyah sarva-dharma-bahishkritah.
Krishna-pakshe bhaven-martyah sarva-dharma-bahishkritah.
Meaning
One born in the dark fortnight (Krishna Paksha) tends to be lazy, unclean, hateful, a fault-finder, and a disgrace to his community (village). He is often excluded from all righteous duties (Dharma).
॥ इति श्रीजातकसारदीपे पक्षफलाध्यायः सप्तमः ॥
Iti Sri-Jataka-Sara-Deepe Paksha-phala-adhyaayah saptamah.
Thus ends the Seventh Chapter titled "Results of the Fortnight" in the glorious Jathaka Sara Deepa.
