Chapter Sixteen: The Results of Day and Night Birth
1. Day Birth (Diva Jata)
१. तेजस्वी पितृसदृशः चा (संकाशश्चा) रुदृष्टि नृपप्रियः ।
बन्धुपूज्यो धनाढयश्च दिवा जातो न संशयः ॥

Tejasvee pitri-sadrishah cha (sankaashash-chaa)ru-drishti nripa-priyah.
Bandhu-puujyo dhana-adhyash-cha divaa jaato na samshayah.

Meaning
One born during the day is undoubtedly radiant, resembles their father, possesses a beautiful gaze, is dear to kings (authorities), is honored by relatives, and is wealthy.
2. Night Birth (Ratri Jata)
२. मन्ददृग्बहुकामार्तः क्षयरोगी मलीमसः ।
क्रूरात्मा छन्नपापश्च निशि जातो भवेन्नरः ॥
क्रूरात्मा छन्नपापश्च निशि जातो भवेन्नरः ॥
Manda-drig-bahu-kaamaartah kshaya-rogee maleemasah.
Kruura-aatmaa channa-paapash-cha nishi jaato bhaven-narah.

Meaning
One born during the night has weak eyesight, is tormented by excessive lust, may suffer from wasting diseases (like TB), is unclean (or dark-minded), has a cruel soul, and commits sins in secret.
॥ इति श्रीजातकसारदीपे दिवारात्रि फलाध्यायः षोडशः ॥
Iti Sri-Jataka-Sara-Deepe Divaa-raatri phala-adhyaayah shodashah.
Thus ends the Sixteenth Chapter titled "Results of Day and Night Birth" in the glorious Jathaka Sara Deepa.
