Chapter 31: Results of the Trimshamsa
॥ त्रिंशांश फलाध्याय एकत्रिंश ॥
Trimshamsha phala-adhyaaya ekatrimshah.
Meaning:
Chapter Thirty-One: The Chapter on the Results of the Trimshamsa.
Shloka 1 (Sun & Moon in Mars' Trimshamsa)
१. भौमादि त्रिंशांशें शूरो विश्रमों गुणी सुतनुः ।
सूर्यचन्द्रे तत्स्थे (स्तब्धो) वक्ता (ध) को धनवान् बुधः श्रेष्ठः ॥
Bhauma-aadi trimshamshe shuuro vishramo gunee su-tanuh.
Surya-chandre tat-sthe (stabdho) vaktaa (dha) ko dhanavaan budhah shreshthah.
Meaning:
When the Sun or the Moon is placed in the Trimshamsa of Mars (or planets beginning with Mars), the person becomes brave, tireless (or composed), virtuous, and possesses a beautiful body. They may be stubborn, eloquent, wealthy, wise, and superior.
Shloka 2 (Mars in Own Trimshamsa)
२. स्वत्रिंशांशे महीपुत्रे तेजस्वी साहसावितः (न्वितः) ।
विभूषण कलत्रार्थ बलसत्य (त्व) युतो नरः ॥
Sva-trimshamshe maheeputre tejasvee saahasa-anvitah.
Vibhuushana kalatra-artha bala-sattva-yuto narah.
Meaning:
When Mars (Mahiputra) is in its own Trimshamsa, the person is radiant and endowed with great courage. He possesses ornaments, a wife, wealth, physical strength, and a truthful character.
Shloka 3 (Saturn in Own Trimshamsa)
३. रोगी मृतस्वदारः स्याद्विषमः परदारगः ।
स्वत्रिंशांशेऽर्कजे दुस्त्रीमलिनः सपरिच्छदः ॥
Rogee mrita-sva-daarah syaad-vishamah para-daara-gah.
Sva-trimshamshe-arkaje dustree-malinah sa-paricchadah.
Meaning:
When Saturn (Arkaja) is in its own Trimshamsa, the person becomes sickly, his own wife dies, he has a difficult/wicked nature, and he seeks other women. He associates with bad women, is unclean (Malina), yet possesses attendants or paraphernalia.
Shloka 4 (Jupiter in Own Trimshamsa)
४. स्वत्त्रिंशांशे गुरौवित्त यशोबुद्धि समन्वितः (सुखान्वितः) ।
नीरुक् पूजयोऽति तेजस्वी भोगी स्यादुद्यमी नरः ॥
Sva-trimshamshe gurau-vitta yasho-buddhi samanvitah (sukhaanvitah).
Neeruk puujyo-ati tejasvee bhogee syaad-udyamee narah.
Meaning:
When Jupiter is in its own Trimshamsa, the person is endowed with wealth, fame, and intelligence (or happiness). He is free from disease, worthy of worship, very radiant, an enjoyer of life, and industrious.
Shloka 5 (Mercury in Own Trimshamsa)
५. स्वत्त्रिशांशे बुधे काव्यकला शिल्प विवादवाक् (भाक्) ।
शास्त्रार्थ साहसैर्युक्तो मान्यः कपटवाक् सुखी ॥
Sva-trimshamshe budhe kaavya-kalaa shilpa vivaada-vaak (bhaak).
Shaastra-artha saahasair-yukto maanyah kapata-vaak sukhee.
Meaning:
When Mercury is in its own Trimshamsa, the person engages in poetry, arts, crafts, and debates. He knows the meaning of scriptures, is bold, honored, speaks deceptively (or cleverly), and is happy.
Shloka 6 (Venus in Own Trimshamsa)
६. बहुपुत्त्रसुरा (सुखा) रोग्यशास्त्रर्थं सहिता नरः (तो मुट्टः) ।
स्वत्रिंशांशे सिते तीक्ष्णः सुप्रकीर्णेऽद्रियो नरः ॥
Bahu-putra-suraa (sukhaa) rogya-shaastra-artham sahito narah.
Sva-trimshamshe site teekshnah suprakeerno-indriyo narah.
Meaning:
When Venus is in its own Trimshamsa, the person is blessed with many sons, happiness (or liquor), health, and knowledge of scriptures. He is sharp/intense, has uncontrolled senses (or widely spread fame), and is prominent.
Closing Verse
॥ इति श्रीजातकसारदीपे त्रिंशांशफलाध्यायः एकत्रिंशः ॥
Iti Sri-Jataka-Sara-Deepe Trimshamsha-phala-adhyaayah ekatrimshah.
Meaning:
Thus ends the Thirty-First Chapter titled "Results of the Trimshamsa" in the glorious Jathaka Sara Deepa.
